As might be evidenced by the fact that I'm on an online dating site, I am a bit of a computer fan. I like making stuff on them, and am currently finishing up with a computer science degree (with a minor in biology)...except there is no finishing, really, because I want to go into research and am thus doomed to pretty much be in school forever (or at least until people start calling me doctor). Science and philosophy are my primary nerdy loves, but I have many. I'm also a big music geek, a bit of an art geek, and I go through phases where I can get pretty into gaming too (but most of the time I just find myself thinking about how I could make a better one and how I'd rather be doing that). I'm also a big beer nerd and could probably talk for an hour just about India pale ales, and I'm a mostly recovered coffee snob (but occasionally I'll still find myself questing for the perfect espresso).

I really enjoy hiking and camping too. I love bicycles, and places that also love bicycles (*le sigh* Pacific Northwest...). I try to travel whenever I possibly can, and I'm frequently told I'm a pretty damn good cook.

There isn't much I don't find interesting. There are a few things, but not much.

I think I tend to have far more dreary thoughts about humanity and the ultimate truths of life and all of that than most people I know. On the large scale, I can be quite pessimistic. On the personal scale though, when it comes to my life and people I actually know, I think I tend to be more optimistic than most. Since the latter is the only one that really matters (we all bitch about politics and religion, but how many of us actually make any difference in those areas?), I reckon it's a good balance.

So that's a really cursory version of me. There is slightly more than just a list of interests...but there's something to be said for being at least slightly opaque sometimes as well.

Hmmmm....about me. Well, I am a grad student working on my Masters degree in English (focusing on Viking and Anglo-Saxon literature, this is where my screen name comes from) and hope to teach college one day. I love the outdoors. I believe Nature is the best way for us to see God's beauty. I am a Christian, not perfect, but who is? My walk with God is very important to me, and I would love to meet a girl who holds her relationship with God at the same level. Once you get to know me You'll realize that I am a very unjudgemental person. There is nothing in anyone's past that would make me look down on them. I love to read, and write. I Love Rock music, Classic rock, punk, metal, whatever, but I also like most other types of music (so i am pretty comfortable listening to anthing). I'm a very open minded person. I don't really care what other people believe or say as long as they allow me the same freedom. Well, it's kinda hard to sum up your life story in 100 words, so I'll just leave it at this: I'm the only person in the entire world who is just like me.

I hate to describe myself; most of us are a lot more than any amount of words (or labels) can say. I guess I could be called a gen-Y hippie though, a pretty open thinker by most standards (I love getting into the really deep stuff in a smoke circle), and generally just a goofy nerd (in the sense that I've always been into tabletop RPG's, card games, board games, video games (I'm a huge fan of anything Half-Life related - Portal FTW!!!11), and other anti-daylight activities:) - currently DnD, Warhammer 40K, Modern Warfare 2, Dragon Age: Origins, and a few obscure Euro board games). I'm definitely starting to realize that I'm a lot...quirkier than I ever realized, it just sucks that I had to sort of hit a brick wall with my career plans to realize that I had some emotional issues to deal with - it's been extremely hard for me to admit that I might actually have legitimate anxiety problems and wasn't just 'slow' to catch up to others in terms of being comfortable in social situations. It's just recently, after talking to a therapist for about 6 months and getting a "diagnosis" of sorts (avoidant personality disorder - I can talk more on that later, but the short story is that I was handed 5 printed pages of me - literally every detail), that I've slowly started to realize that being complicated isn't necessarily a bad thing - it just makes me unique (imagine that - we're all different:). Though I've been told I'm extremely easy to get along with, it takes some time for me to feel safe enough to warm up to people, let my guard down and just relax; I'm a very introverted person and always will be, but I'm finally beginning to overcome some of the fears that have held me back my entire life (pot helps; I'm a NORML member but seriously not trying to push any views here - it's just the truth for me).

make people laugh, give big hugs, people watch (sometimes i go out just to chill, think and watch people), spend time with friends, have family time, have alone time, cook, ride bikes around town, go for walks, attend costume parties, wear dangly earrings, paint my toenails, make my son laugh, dress him in funky clothes, dance, pretend like im still a kid (sometimes) having a child makes this alot more fun, have deep converstion, have meaningless or senseless conversation, imagine what a perfect life would be like (i have concluded that it would be dull)
I don't like...
when people pretend to be listening to you when your are talking to them, black liquorish, sour candy, spiders, to be stuck in tight/small/cramped places figuratively and literally, pushy people, rude people, selfish people, when people scare me (i have been known to accidentally hit people for that) painting my fingernails, genital piercings (grose), when people smoke in the car or anywhere around children, when people slam doors, when people throw money on the counter, when people dont smile back, etc

I try to keep a positive attitude and enjoy every moment of my existence, and i feel that others should do the same.
I am searching for many things in life and at times i feel that some of those things are so close that i can taste them while others are soooo far out of reach.

I am 21 and attend ETSU. I'm majoring in Criminal Justice with a focus on Behavioral Sciences. I've had a difficult past, but do not regret any of it. Where I've been has made me who I am today.

I love movies, sports and music. I'm a "homebody" and laid back. I enjoy spending time with my friends, no matter what we're doing. I love trying new things and like challenging myself to accomplish things.

I'm a sly, sweet kind of guy. I love to play video games...yes I'm a gamer...ever been with a gamer? you should. Anyways I love to build model cars too. I'm pretty easy-going laid back, people always accuse me of being a stoner because of my chillness, but I've never smoked that in my life. Also, like going camping and rafting out on the lake, hang out at the movies or something. I just love to have fun and I really enjoy making people laugh...they say I should go into standup.

I like I am, I suppose, a bit of a geek. A charismatic, awesome, ridiculously extroverted geek, but I still know way more about video game history than most people would care to know. I never get enough of being around people, I have a kick-ass, witty sense of humor, and I'm always searching for ways to make myself better.

I make music, and I keep myself busy with live performances, rehearsals, jam sessions, and audio engineering (both recording and live). Music is my conduit for expression. I can say a lot more with music than with words, though I am spending more time thinking about words lately.

I enjoy all things Vintage! I build and collect classic motorcycles from the 50's, 60's and 70's. I love music! I enjoy listening to and making music with my good friends in the area. I try to travel around and see concerts and sporting events when I can. I'm originally from Florida but moved to TN late in high school. I have lived in Atlanta and the D.C. area. It seems I always end up back in East TN. I try to live life to the fullest. Never married and no kids, I wanted to focus on a career first.
