Johnson City Tennessee Events
Johnson City Area HBA is pleased to announce that it will present its 51st annual House and Garden Show from 21 to 23 February 2020.
The exhibited projects will be offered for silent auction, with all proceeds going to the participating schools. Prizes must be selected and selected by a jury of Johnson City Area HBA and Johnson County Schools. There is live music throughout the day and a wide selection of goods for sale. Officials assess the quality of the projects, the design and construction of each house and garden, and the overall exhibition experience.
Regional high schools compete by planning, building and then presenting to a panel of judges from across the nation at the Home Outdoors Show. The awards are based on the quality of the projects, the planning and construction of each project, and overall experience. JCAHBA members will be present with the students during exhibition hours and act as judges for the schools assigned to them.
The Natural Sports Organization of Johnson City is an outdoor-oriented Meetup group that offers a wide range of activities. Singles with special interests can participate in games played by the group, and singles visiting the region can choose to join a group of like-minded people or to set up for a less structured event.
The Club can arrange weddings, ceremonies, receptions and special events in one of the various rooms of its choice. The Lancaster Room will often be used for rehearsals and wedding showers and will accommodate 50 to 60 people. The Presidential Room will accommodate 30 people and will be open for private events such as weddings and receptions.
With 3 beautiful chandeliers made of hardwood and 2 beautiful fireplaces located at the eastern and western end of the hall, the JCCC ballroom is the largest room in the club and can accommodate 420 people. The price of this room includes a terrace just outside it, allowing for a great flow of space and access to the outside. There is also an outdoor terrace with pool, pool table, picnic tables and chairs. Overlooking the pool and terrace, it offers plenty of space to evoke memories with family and friends.
Thirsty Orange also hosts the 6th annual Tennessee Championship Beer, the largest medal event in Tennessee. The grand prize of a $500 shopping spree will be raffled off at the end of the show on Sunday. A highlight of the festival is a mural competition, in which teams compete for cash prizes by painting murals on a giant canvas in the city's downtown square.
